Chigwell Row Nature Reserve, Essex
This historic woodland often goes unnoticed by many. Recently it has undergone a clearing and reconstructing strategy by the local council. New paths, markers, sculpture and walkways open up this small piece of woodland to families and nature enthusiasts.
A new booklet promoting this woodland is soon to be produced by Epping Forest District Council.
Working with Epping Forest district council photographer John Price is photographing and recording special trees of interest. These include quite rare Black Poplars, Oaks, Beeches, Hornbeams and many other species.
ABV hopes to make this a wider ranged project and is looking to other councils for their participation and support.

Conservation by Country Care preserves this valuable habitat
Tree wardens help to make this a place for families to look at local wildlife.

Chigwell Row woodland used to be part of Epping Forest in the last century. This ancient woodland has recently undergone a new look. Paul Hewitt of Epping Forest Countryside Care has been hard at work preparing woodland walks and a conservation program to draw attention to the value of this beautiful stretch of woodland.
