The British Worker

Portrait of the British worker is the subject of a series of images that ABV is producing to show the diversity of life and communities in Britain now and in the past.

Some of Britain's most talented and humble people come from our different communities, ranging from sportsmen and women to doctors and teachers.

People are molded by their cultures, work and environment. Britain provides some of the widest range of cultures in the world.

ABV wants to record these jobs and occupations.

Jobs from the past and present

Where are the miners, the industrialists, the craftsmen of yesterday?

Industry has played an important role in Britain and now with the demise of many of the industrial sites in Britain ABV is creating a database of these historical industries.
